Lost in the cloth nappy jargon? let us make it easy:
Whats the best cloth nappy system? Generally speaking - no leaks, not too costly you are best spending money on a SEPERATE NAPPY AND WRAP system - these are usually shaped nappies - or terry squares - with a selection of fastening types and materials.
Shaped Nappies, shaped just like disposables- usually in two or three sizes to fit as baby grows. You'll need a wrap over the top. Manufacturers of Shaped Nappies include, MotherEase, Tots Bots, Nature Babies,
All in One, is just that, nappy and wrap you don't need anything else - again sized - great but very hard to dry, and not suitable for tumbling. VERY PRONE TO LEAKING.
Bum Genius is currently the leader in All in One nappies, though Tots Bots have launched their version this year.
One size. Reduces the need for buying sizes and makes things cheaper, but can be bulky on a new born. Overall, these can be the best value. Also called Birth to Potty nappies DO NOT CONFUSE BIRTH TO POTTY PACKS WITH BIRTH TO POTTY NAPPIES!
Motherease sells One Size, as do Easy Peasy,
Pocket (stuffables) a waterproof outter with an insert, no need for a wrap, but the fit generally needs to be snug - better to buy after you have met your baby.
Of course there are plenty of combinations on the market too.. ! (we are still building this... can't see what you want - please ask!
